6 Summer Essentials from Old Navy

Old Navy is one of my favorite spots to shop for summer essentials. Don't freak out when a new season rolls around and you're sick of your 2011 summer wardrobe. Old Navy allows you to feel a little more confident about your summer wardrobe without the anxiety of breaking the bank. Several of the items below have become my go-to pieces for this summer's hot weather. A floppy straw hat is a must-have for me when I'm at the beach, and a lightweight scarf for when I'm traveling. I can't tell you how comfortable the brown sandals are, or how many shocked compliments I've gotten on the cover-up and aviators. I can guarantee you won't meet one girl whose wardrobe doesn't consist of a maxi dress or two, so why not mix it up with this super cute powder blue one with a bit of eyelet detail?

1. Floppy Straw Sun Hat - on sale $22.99
2. Women's blue mirrored aviators - in store only
3. Gold-Foil Gauze Scarf - on sale $14.99
6. Cross Strap Sandals in Brown

Wedding Edition: Photography

With just under a year to go, I'm finally getting some big things crossed off the wedding checklist and photography is one of them. I wanted to share with you some of my favorite photos from our wedding photographer Shannon of Vine & Light Photography. Shannon was the first person I met with and I immediately felt at ease with her as she walked me through the process of the wedding day. Her forte is capturing light and highlighting and celebrating love. Her talent amazes me and I love getting to see all the moments she captures while we await our big day. Take a peek below and then visit her blog - it's full of inspiration and beauty not only in her photos, but her words as well.

One of my favorite qualities about Shannon is her heart for missions. Such a sweet photo she captured in Haiti through Mission of Hope.

Spring Trend: Pastels

Spring is a time to refresh your wardrobe. Why not freshen up with spring's pastel hues? Shades of soft pink, peach, violet, sky blue and mint green are back again. From oversized blazers and handbags to blouses and sneakers, pastels are seen all over clothing and accessories this spring.

Oscars Red Carpet 2014

Naturally, my favorite part of any award show is the red carpet. So many gorgeous sparkling and beaded nudes, but these three top my list for award-worthy gowns.

Jennifer Lawrence looked red hot in a strapless Dior Couture gown.

Once again, Lupita wowed us all, this time in a pastel blue Prada gown with a plunging neckline. (How adorable was her acceptance speech?!)

I'm not normally an Angelina Jolie fan, but I was definitely a fan of her gorgeous long-sleeve metallic Elie Saab number. The cascading beaded pattern and sheer bodice is so ethereal.

Who was on your best dressed list?

xo,
Brooke

Dreaming of spring

Photo from With Love and Squalor

This cold weather is making me crave springtime. (It's been abnormally cold in Florida and for too long!) This photo makes me dream of the delightful weather and beautiful walks it may bring. & I love how it looks as if there is still a chill in the air. Spring is a season of transformation and renewed hope; when the trees and the plants finally come back to life, and naturally, we feel happier. Spring is probably my favorite season. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that we are planning our wedding during this bright and happy season. I'll be sharing more photos that inspire the planning process along the way. I hope you'll stick around :)

Enjoy your weekend, friends!

Stella & Dot Spring Line: My Favorites

As many of you know, I have a little side business selling Stella & Dot jewelry, accessories, and handbags. I started back in October of 2012 when I was searching for a full-time job and needed something to fill my time, bring in some extra money, and fuel my creativity and love for accessories. Little did I know, Stella & Dot was the perfect company for the job (and still is). It was this bracelet that lead me to Stella & Dot. I wanted to host a party so I could get it for free. Instead, I was contacted by my now amazing mentor, Karen, who told me I should just join as a Stylist. Thank God I did, because I got so much more than just that bracelet. :)

Here are my favorites from the new Spring line that launched on Monday:

P.S. Want to know one of the best things about Stella & Dot? You can get your favorite pieces for free if you host a trunk show with me. It's one of the easiest and most fun ways to get your girlfriends together. Just ask me about it!

Like my Stella & Dot Facebook page to keep up-to-date with sales and new arrivals!
